TOURNAMENT RULES
All games are governed by US Lacrosse rules, modified for club play, with key exceptions highlighted below.
Score and Timing
Game Duration:
Saturday: Two 22-minute running halves with a 2-minute halftime. The officials may adjust on-field warm-up time based on the schedule.
Sunday: Two 20-minute running halves with a 2-minute halftime. The officials may adjust on-field warm-up time based on the schedule.Clock Management: Game time and penalty time will be kept at the scoring table.
Penalty Time: Administered at 1.5x the standard time to account for the running clock (e.g., a 30-second penalty becomes 45 seconds; a 60-second penalty becomes 90 seconds).
Injury Time: The referee has full discretion to stop or allow game time to continue during an injury. Game lengths may be adjusted as necessary to keep the tournament on schedule.
Timeouts
Pool Play: No timeouts allowed.
Bracket/Consolation Play: One timeout per team, per game, time outs are not reset in overtime. Timeouts are permitted only when the team calling it has possession, anywhere on the field. The game and penalty clock stop during a time out.
Pace of Play
Stalling: Referees will call stalling early if observed. The referee will first request “to see some offense,” then initiate a 20-second clock if stalling continues. A legitimate shot (hitting the goal or goalie) must occur before the timer buzzes, or possession will change.
Clearing Rules: Teams have 20 seconds to advance the ball over the midline. The over-and-back rule applies once the ball has crossed midfield and is after the 20-second count has expired.
Overtime Rules
Format: Sudden victory; the first goal wins.
Pool Play: 4 Minute overtime, if no team scores within that 4 minutes the game will result in a time.
Playoff & Consolation Overtime: No time limit. Overtime continues until a goal is scored.
