We’re bringing the heat to the Rose City this summer with the Portland Summer Cup – the premier men’s lacrosse league for players 18+ from Oregon and SW Washington.

Grab your gear, rally the squad, and hit the field under the lights for a high-energy, fast-paced summer league that brings together competition, camaraderie, and that unbeatable summer vibe.

  • 6 games to determine playoff seeding

  • 2 play-off games to determine Summer Cup Champion and 3rd place.

  • Four 15-minute running quarters

  • 10-minute on-field warm-up per team before each game

  • All games officiated by certified OLOA referees and played in accordance to NCAA rules with adjustment for men’s club league format.

Sportsmanship: Any player assessed an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty may be removed from that week’s game, at the discretion of the referees. Fighting is an automatic ejection from the league. A player receiving more than three minutes of personal fouls in a single game will be suspended for the following week’s game.

Playoffs: Playoffs will be determined by standings after week six. First place plays fourth place, second place plays third place. In case of a tie in record, the tiebreakers will be, in order: head-to-head result (if a team is 2-0, they win tiebreaker), head-to-head aggregate score (who won when the two game scores are combined), goals allowed in total, coin flip.

Player Registration

All players will register individually.

Players may request to play with a small group by entering a Draft Code during registration.

  • Draft Codes allow groups of players to be placed on the same team during roster assignments.

  • Groups are limited to a maximum of 4 players.

  • Example Draft Code: HOP

Players who enter the same Draft Code will be grouped together when teams are formed whenever possible.

Registration is first come, first served until league capacity is reached.

Free Agent Pool

All players will initially register as free agents and will be assigned to teams by league administration.

Teams will be created with the goal of balanced rosters and competitive games.

When building teams we will prioritize:

  • Position balance (goalies, long poles, short sticks)

  • Keeping Draft Code groups together

  • Overall roster balance across the league

Team Structure Guidelines

To keep the league competitive and organized:

  • Each team may roster:

    • Maximum 2 goalies

    • Maximum 8 long poles

  • Teams must meet a minimum roster of 18 players to participate.

  • Any roster changes must be approved by league administration.

Competitive Balance Policy

To ensure competitive integrity:

  • League administration reserves the right to redistribute free agents if needed for balance.

  • Stacking of teams may be reviewed if it significantly impacts league competitiveness.

  • Any disputes will be resolved by the commissioner.

Trades

  • Trades may occur through Week 3.

  • All trades must be approved by league administration.

  • No trades after Week 3.
